The University of Roehampton, London, formerly Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, is a public university in the United Kingdom. Roehampton was formerly an equal partner. In 2004, Roehampton became a university. In 2011, it was renamed the University of Roehampton. Roehampton’s academic faculties include the Faculty of Business and Law, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Life and Health Sciences and Faculty of Psychology. Established in 1975, the University of Roehampton is a highly-ranked public institution of research-centric higher education in London, United Kingdom. Titled as the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, the institution came into existence as a result of the merger between four teacher training colleges founded in the 19th century. It was branded with the current name in 2011, but its legal name is Roehampton University, which was given to it in the year 2004. It holds affiliations from Universities UK and the European University Association. The university is associated with the Cathedrals Group and the Compostela Group of Universities.
